New judge this season!

Singer/songwriter Kara DioGuardi will join Paula, Simon and Randy as a permanent judge when the show returns for its 8th season in January.

Simon Fuller said they originally wanted four judges when "American Idol" started.

Simon went on to say, "We are turning the heat up on 'Idol' this year and are thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges' table. She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America's most successful songwriters. We know she will bring a new level of energy and excitement to the show."

Kara has worked with Kelly Clarkson, Christina A., Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Santana, Carrie Underwood, Britney, Clay Aiken and more.

I see Paula fading into the woodwork very quickly... I wonder if this is because Paula is such a fuckup now

When I first read the title to the article, I really thought that they were getting rid of Paula.  But it looks like they aren't.  Maybe they are getting ready to get rid of her, or this is in fear that one of the judges will be leaving us and this way we will still have 3 if one does.

They want an extra judge in case Paula can't drag her ass to the show when she is too heavily drugged up or drunk.

Nothing! to the show. Unless they get rid of Paula that is. They are basically the same judge. She just happens to be well spoken. I pick her and give Paula the boot. Now.
